Equipment, destination and a good start

Ski rental prices: compare the complete cost

Compare ski hire fairly: identical dates, equipment category, boots, helmet, rider ages and conditions. Understand what changes the total.

Start with the full cost, not an isolated daily rate

The useful comparison is the total for your actual dates and group. A daily headline rate can refer to a different rental duration, equipment category or set of extras. Obtain the full-period amount before deciding which offer is cheaper.

Do not treat a guide price as a live quote. The displayed price and availability in the selected booking service are what you need to review before payment.

Compare equivalent packages

  • Use identical first and last rental days.
  • Compare the same type of equipment and a similar ability category.
  • Include boots and helmet in both totals if you need them.
  • Check the ages and categories of all children and adults.
  • Read collection, return, damage-cover and cancellation terms.

A cheaper package can be less convenient

Compare the shop location with where you sleep and where you start skiing. An inconvenient collection point can mean an extra bus, walk or taxi and less flexibility on arrival. A shop in the same ski area is not necessarily near your village.

If your dates change, request a fresh total rather than assuming that adding or removing one day changes the cost by the advertised daily amount.
